Why is first clear on Trundle so important?
Most players in League of Legends, think that
Trundle has a very slow clear because he doesn't have AoE or spells that deal % max health as damage. But thanks to his
Chomp, which steals AD from its targets, and his
Frozen Domain which gives him bonus attack speed, he can have a fast first clear, which if you master can give you a huge edge, allowing you to gank first! Also
Trundle has powerful level 3 ganks thanks to his pillar, so knowing the first part of the clear has its own benefits, if you decide to surprise the enemy with a cheeky early gank!
Which runes are best for Trundle in the jungle?
Our first shard choice will of course be
Attack Speed, because trundle only auto attacks to deal damage during his clear, so it makes the most sense! Second option will be
Adaptive Force, and third is
Health Scaling - an option we mostly take over
Health Flat and if you're wondering why, check out my Rune Choice guide for junglers!
What spell is best to start?
When playing
Trundle, there is a debate if
Chomp start or
Frozen Domain start is faster, and from my testing,
Chomp paired up with the
Attack Speed shard is the superior choice. On level two we will take
Frozen Domain, and on level 3 you can either put another point in
Chomp or take
Pillar of Ice as the clear speed is the same, because we use it to pull the camps towards us, effectively saving us time, but also it keeps skipping camps and ganking as a valid option.
Important mechanics & tips
- There are no special tips for
Trundle, the clear is pretty straight forward, just use your
Chomp as an auto attack reset and use your
Pillar of Ice to pull the camps towards you like in the video guide.
